Spotlight Interview: Kason Branch

By Prestonwood Network Staff

Prestonwood Network: Creekstone Church just recently celebrated its three-year anniversary. What is the biggest lesson that God has taught you over these past few years?

Kason Branch: God is teaching me to be faithful over my assignment as He directs my path. God is moving, and I’m learning to follow His lead as I’m growing in my faith.

Prestonwood Network: Why is leadership so important when planting and pastoring a church?

Kason Branch: Strong leadership ensures proper prayer, planning, and execution in regard to church planting and pastoring. The aforementioned is absolutely necessary in church planting.

Prestonwood Network: How can a pastor be sure that he is growing in how he leads himself, his family, and his church?

Kason Branch: I try to set measurable goals that I can reflect on during the year. The key to achieving those goals is discipline. My wife and I regularly discuss the health of our family and whether or not we’re growing in the right direction.

Prestonwood Network: What are you most excited about for the future at Creekstone Church?

Kason Branch: I’m excited about discipling our men, women and youth in Christ. We’re planning now for programs that will roll out in the fall, and I’m looking forward to seeing growth and maturity in the lives of God’s people.

Prestonwood Network: How do you personally stay devoted to your spiritual disciplines, even when you are being pulled in so many different directions?

Kason Branch: I’ve asked for accountability from Christian brothers. They ask me the tough questions that keep me on track spiritually.

Prestonwood Network: What are some practical tips for pastors and planters to protect quality time with their spouse and children?

Kason Branch: I try to calendar my professional and personal time as I tend to live by my calendar. When I’m with my family, I’m not on my cell phone or distracted. I make an effort to be fully engaged and present.

Prestonwood Network: How can the pastor encourage and equip his people to share the Gospel and to make disciples?

Kason Branch: In my opinion, evangelism should be taught and modeled. Pastors should preach yearly on sharing our faith and then model this by allowing the congregation to fellowship with visitors the pastor has invited.

Prestonwood Network: How can the Prestonwood Network pray for you?

Kason Branch: Pray for strength and stamina for the church-planting journey. Also please pray for God’s continued financial provision as well as a facility of our own in the future.

Prestonwood Network: Thank you, Kason. We greatly value our partnership with you and with Creekstone Church, and we are excited to see what God has in store for the future.
