In January 2008, Vintage Church began with 25 people. From January to September, Vintage gathered on Wednesday nights asking God to create His plan for His church. On September 28, 2008, Vintage Church officially launched with a Sunday worship gathering in an uptown club and community groups all over the city. At that time Vintage Church had grown to over 60 people. Over our first two years God blessed Vintage as people were saved and baptized, the leadership team grew, and the attendance in community groups and worship gatherings continued to increase to over 150 people.
In the fall of 2010, our church family began multiplying community groups in the Metairie region of New Orleans. At the same time Highland Baptist Church was considering new options for their future. In January of 2011, HBC dissolved and merged with Vintage to begin a new campus for Vintage Church. On September 2011, the Metairie Campus officially launched. As Vintage grew in Orleans and Jefferson Parish throughout 2011 & 2012 the Lord opened up another opportunity through Hurricane Isaac to launch a 3rd campus in the Lakefront region. When a core team started to gather in Lakefront, the Vintage Leadership began to implement a new identity and ministry for our future. Once a month all of our campuses would unite in one location to worship Christ. Our first Vintage United gathering was held in the fall of 2012 and hundreds of people united from all over the city. This new identity has been an incredible encouragement to our mission of reaching this entire city for Jesus as one church in multiple locations.
As Vintage Church has launched into the fourth year, we have officially launched our 3rd campus. With these three campuses that now gather on Sunday mornings through 4 services, we have grown to more than 400 people and we are anticipating even greater things through the Spirit of God. Christ has called us to live the Gospel, love the city, and be the church by multiplying individuals, community groups and gatherings for the sake of reaching New Orleans and the world. We truly believe that God is going to use Vintage in such a way that He alone receives the glory.
Vintage has also helped launch two new church plants in San Antonio and San Diego and has sent out missionaries to Mumbai, India. Currently, Vintage Church is working to mobilize a church planting movement in New Orleans. If you are interested in planting in the New Orleans area, please email Rob Wilton at rob@vintageunited.tv.
