Brandon Bowers is the founding and lead pastor of Awaken Church. As a junior studying pre-law at the College of Charleston back in 2000, Brandon was introduced to Jesus and committed his life to follow and serve Him. After graduating with an B.A. in Corporate Communications, he attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary earning a M.A. in missiology.
Brandon went on to serve several large churches over a 10-year period before being called back to Charleston in the fall of 2012 to plant Awaken Church. Brandon leads the vision, staff and preaching at Awaken Church. Brandon is married to Ashley, and they have two sons, Brailey and Bryson, and two daughters, Brinkley and Brooklyn.

Awaken Church started in January 2013 with nine people. In this short period of time, they grown to hundreds in weekly attendance with 24 small groups meeting throughout the city. Along the way, they have seen hundreds of lives changed and transformed by the power of the Gospel. Founding Pastor Brandon Bowers leads Awaken Church with a clear and compelling vision to see people far from God awakened to life in Christ. They are seeing this vision come to reality every week there at Awaken.
