JESUS – THE SON OF GOD

JOURNEY 1 – “A Baby on the Way”  (Jesus: Son of God is Born)

Key Passages: Luke 1:26–56; Matthew 1:18–24

Key Thought: Discover God’s purpose for your life.
Key Verse: “[Mary] will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” —Matthew 1:21

JOURNEY 2 – “The Family Tree”  (Jesus: Son of Man & Seed of Abraham)

Key Thought: Demonstrate gratitude to those who have passed the Gospel on to you.

JOURNEY 3 – “Birth Announcements Sent Out”  (Jesus is Born)

Key Thought: Be ready always to share the Good News about Jesus.

JOURNEY 4 – “Baby Dedication”  (Anna & Simeon See Christ)

Key Passage: Luke 2:22–40
Key Word: Dedication
Key Thought: Dedicate all that you are and all that you have to Christ.
Key Verse: “And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon Him.” —Luke 2:40.

JOURNEY 5 – “Gifts Galore”  (The Wise Men Find Jesus)

Key Passage: Matthew 2:1–23
Key Word: Honor
Key Thought: Honor the King of Kings with continual praise and worship.
Key Verse: “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power for you created all things….”  —Revelation 4:11

JOURNEY 6 – “Man on a Mission”  (Jesus Prepares for His Ministry)

Key Passages: Matthew 1:1–17; 3:1–15; Luke 2:41–52
Key Word: Preparation
Key Thought: Prepare for the mission God has for you.

JOURNEY 7 – “Good vs. Evil”  (Satan Tempts Jesus)

Key Passage: Matthew 4:1–11
Key Word: Victory
Key Thought: Obey God’s Word to have victory over temptation.
Key Verse: “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” —Ephesians 6:11

JOURNEY 8 – “Ordinary Men w/ Extraordinary Faith”  (Jesus Calls His Disciples)

Key Word: Choices
Key Thought: Make right choices to have success and a reputation that honors God.
Key Verse: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that on one may boast.” —Ephesians 2:8–9

JOURNEY 9 – “Nic at Nite!”  (Nicodemus Comes at Night)

Key Passage: John 3:1–21
Key Word: Faith
Key Thought: Place your faith in Christ to receive eternal life.
Key Verse: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” —John 3:16

JOURNEY 10 – “The Adoption Option”  (The Woman at the Well)

Key Word: Inclusion
Key Thought: Demonstrate the love of Christ to people of every nation.

JOURNEY 11 – “Dinner with Friends”  (Mary, Martha & Lazarus)

Key Word: Priorities
Key Thought: Make studying God’s Word a top priority every day.
Key Verse: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:6–7

JOURNEY 12 – “A Lesson Taught After School”  (Training the Disciples & Peter’s Confession)

Key Passage: Matthew 16:1–23
Key Word: I.D.
Key Thought: Find your true identity as a child of the King.
Key Verse: “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”  —Matthew 16:16

JOURNEY 13 – “Jesus Loves Me?”  (Jesus Blesses the Children)

Key Passages: Matthew 18:1–15; Mark 10:13–16; Luke 18:15–17
Key Word: VIP
Key Thought: Become one of God’s VIPs by committing your life to Christ.
Key Verse: “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”  —1 Timothy 4:12
