Prestonwood Girl Talk Conference

Prestonwood Baptist Church recently hosted a Women’s Ministry Conference, Girl Talk. This conference featuring gifted speakers such as Sheila Walsh, Susie Hawkins, and Debbie Stephens.

The Prestonwood Network wants to equip you personally by giving you access to each one of these talks. Each talk has greatly blessed those who were in attendance, and we pray that they will bless you too.

Holly Shivers

Holly Shivers is the author of I Can Learn the Bible and I Can Learn to Pray. She received her BA from Texas Christian University and her MA in counseling from Dallas Baptist University. Holly enjoys contributing to various writing projects and ministry blogs, speaking, and serving at her local church. Holly lives in Texas with her husband and four kids.

Chrissie Dunham

Chrissie was born in Oklahoma but has made her home in Plano, Texas with Charlie, her husband, and high school sweetheart. With deep roots in both Women’s Ministry and Corporate America, Chrissie has a unique perspective on what it is to equip and engage women where they are in life. Chrissie is passionate about her walk with the Lord and lives by her favorite slogan, “The Party Don’t Stop!” She hopes every believer knows that eternal life begins when you meet Jesus and there is a party in heaven in your honor, forever!

Susie Hawkins

Susie Hawkins lives in Dallas and has been actively involved in women’s ministry as a pastor’s wife, teacher and volunteer. Susie has an MA in Christian Leadership from Criswell College as well as an MA in Theology. She is married to O. S. Hawkins, president of GuideStone Financial Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention (formerly the Annuity Board of the Southern Baptist Convention) and is the mother of two married daughters, Wendy and Holly, as well as a grandmother of five. Her favorite things to do are bargain hunting, lunching with friends and playing with her grandchildren!

Debbie Stephens

Debbie Stephens teaches a Women’s Bible Fellowship Class at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX. She is also on the board of Prestonwood Pregnancy Center.   Debbie loves anything Tex-Mex, an occasional spin class (which usually leads to more Tex-Mex), naps, and traveling.  But her heartbeat is her family and “anything women’s ministry.” Debbie is married to Dr. Jarrett Stephens, Teaching Pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church.  They have four amazing daughters (good thing she likes women’s ministry) and one very sweet dog.

Karol Ladd

Karol Ladd is known as “the Positive Lady.” As the author of over 35 inspirational books, Karol communicates a message of growth, wisdom, and teamwork in facing obstacles in both life and work. Karol is the founder of Positive Life Principles, Inc. and currently serves as the executive director of Engage Positive Parenting Initiative, which reaches men and women in communities affected by poverty and adversity. Her most valued role is that of wife to Curt and mother to two grown daughters, Grace and Joy.

Sheila Walsh

From Scotland, Sheila is first a wife and mom and in her spare time she is an author, Bible teacher and television host. She has spoken around the world to over 6 million women and reaches a potential 100 million people daily as co-host of the Life Today television program. Sheila’s books have sold over 5 million copies including her latest bestseller It’s Okay Not To Be Okay. In February 2020, she releases her newest book, Praying Women, How to Pray When You Don’t Know What To Say. Texas is her home where she lives with her husband, son and two little crazy dogs Tink and Maggie.
