SCOTUS Decision on Gay Marriage

This past week, the family once again came under attack in America. This is an old fight dating back to the Garden of Eden when Satan seduced the first family with lies and deception. The same lies are in play today. The question, “Has God indeed said?” (Genesis 3:1 NKJ), echoes through the centuries.

The biblical design of marriage is clear: a man and a woman living and loving together in a monogamous relationship in the image of God. Today, same-sex marriage is at the forefront of the fight for the biblical family. Gay marriage violates God’s standard and is outside God’s plan for men and women.

The Supreme Court of the United States has now reached their goal of legalizing gay marriage in every state in the country. This is a wake-up call to Bible-believing Christians. The late Francis Schaeffer told us that someday we would wake up and find out the America we once knew was gone. That day is here. We have set a course for disaster in our beloved nation and there seems to be no turning back.

SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO? – Quitting is not an option when it comes to staying in the battle for right and wrong. Cursing the darkness is not the answer. Shouting our viewpoint is not winning the argument. Live and let live, or ignore the problem, is not the answer. Apathy kills.

We win spiritual battles with spiritual weapons. Love. Compassion. Good deeds. Prayer and the Word of God. We overcome evil with good. The Good News of Jesus—His Cross and Resurrection give people hope and peace and conquer sin and judgment.

Remember, the battle is the Lord’s. When we look to Him for help, He will deliver us from evil.

God will reverse the trends of this idolatrous, immoral culture if His own people will pray and seek Him and then obey Him regardless of the cost. In His grace, our great Savior can revive America. Darkness will not prevail if we will repent and cry out to God for mercy and then rise up to the challenge of our times. Most of all, we must witness of a Savior who can save us from sin when we come to Him. We need to pray that millions will be converted to Christ because, ultimately, the only way to change minds is to change hearts.

Ministries such as Prestonwood Pregnancy Center make a difference. Our Student and Children’s Ministries are fighting every day for our kids’ hearts and minds. Prestonwood Christian Academy is training young minds to change the world. I assure you, we will never give up in our efforts to light the night with the Truth of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.

So, let the Church rise with the confidence that our God still reigns.
